About Lorena:
I am a Cuban artist currently based in Florida, USA.
For as long as I can remember, being an artist was all I ever wanted. I’ve always cherished those quiet moments with a piece of paper, a brush, or a pencil, moments that bring me so much joy and peace. Maybe it's because I'm deeply introvert, or maybe it’s something else, who knows?! At 14, I decided to study at a Fine Art School, and that experience had a profound impact on me. Since then, I’ve been fully dedicated to the practice of painting, never truly stopping along the way.
Over the years, I’ve explored many techniques and styles, but I fell in love with oil painting. My work is deeply influenced by the Old Masters, especially the Impressionist and Post Impressionist periods - perhaps due to my academic background. I am constantly inspired by their masterful use of light and composition. As a naturally traditional person, this appreciation for classical techniques is reflected in my artistic approach.
Through my artwork, I desire to evoke a sense of nostalgia, transporting the viewer to another time and place. I want my paintings to invite introspection, allowing each person to immerse themselves in the piece and discover their own personal meaning within it.
